February 21: Winter Awareness Clinic with wilderness guide, Robin Kohn. This is an all day training
in which you will learn how to appropriately prepare for a winter trip
and what to do for a safe fulfilling experience once you arrive. Two hours will be indoor training and the rest is for exploring your new skills in the Mount Shasta backcountry. Such
topics as equipment, how to dress, what to eat and drink, familiarity
with the area, weather, use of a map and compass, what to do if you
get lost or in an emergency, how to deal with injuries, how to prevent
winter illnesses such as frostbite, dealing with hypothermia and altitude
sickness, reading terrain, and avalanche awareness will be covered.

Solstice.

a guided Sacred Site Tours with Ashalyn. This is a time when the veils between
the worlds are the thinnest and one can communicate with loved ones
that have passed over. It's a time to honor the dead and release from
one's own life what is not needed anymore to make way for new growth.
This is the wise Crone time...a time of dark nights, the releasing of
fears, and the feeding of sacred fires. It's a beginning time where
all is born out of darkness and into the light and the circle and the
cycles begin again as the seasonal wheel turns.

This is a time to honor the fertility of the land, the blessings of candles, the abundance all around us, and the returning of the light.
